    We are currently recruiting for a Case Presenter (Barrister / Solicitor Advocate) to join our Governance directorate on a full-time permanent basis.

    As a Case Presenter you will play an important role in ensuring cases are progressed in a proportionate and timely way that best protects the public interest.

    The purpose of this role is to present cases at our Disciplinary and Regulatory Hearings and to provide advice at various stages of the complaints cycle.

    The Job

    Reporting to the Head of Adjudication, on a day to day basis you will be responsible for:

    • Preparation and presentation of cases at all hearing types
    • Advising (Senior) Investigating Officers / Managers on the conduct of investigations, evidential issues, and drafting allegations with a view to ensuring cases are conducted within necessary case law/legal precedent, relevant policy and strategy developments, and outcomes from hearings and other relevant bodies.
    • Awareness of the importance of information security and of data protection law, including in relation to the disclosure of documentation for use in our investigations and presentation of cases at hearing.
    • Remaining up to date with legal and policy developments within regulation and ACCA to inform your advice and advocacy.
    • Contributing to shared learning to ensure continuous improvement and consistency of advice.
    • Meeting the timescales set for the provision of legal advice and progression of cases through to hearing within set KPIs.
    • Planning, managing and prioritising your workload with a focus on supporting the department in meeting its team and end to end objectives.
    • Working collaboratively with colleagues across teams and departments, with a focus on prioritising cases, such as aged cases, high profile cases and those subject to an interim order.
    • Maintaining and updating case management and data reporting system as required.
    The Person

    You will be a Barrister or Solicitor Advocate and must hold a current practising certificate, and to be able to demonstrate:
    • Significant advocacy experience with persuasive advocacy skills and witness handling
    • Strong understanding of the public interest within a regulatory complaints' framework
    • Strong knowledge of regulatory law, practice, and rules of evidence and procedure to include an advocacy setting and/or another relevant transferable environment.
    • Evidence of ability to manage and balance a significant hearings caseload, while providing quality legal advice in a high-pressured environment
    • Good understanding of data protection law, practice, and procedure.
    • Strong people skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels and to work collaboratively with colleagues across and within teams.
    • An ability to think about the 'big picture' and the end-to-end process, as well as attention to detail.
