    Mechanical Technician Property Maintenance

    The successful applicant will have experience with complex systems and previous exposure to safe working methods, and the ability to work on a diverse range of plants.

    Additional training and development will be given as part of a formal training plan to ensure safe work systems are maintained at all times. This role will also require participation in the department's on-call system. This is to ensure that our service is delivered to our Hospital's 24-hours a day, seven days a week . This is currently a one in six arrangement allowing for annual leave and standard working. Main duties of the job - The duties include highly complex fault finding and maintenance on all aspects of engineering plant and equipment throughout the Trust. - The duties must be carried out within strict timescales and statutory guidelines. - The post holder must participate in the pre-planned on-call rota as part of an approved structure (following suitable training). - Planned and reactive maintenance tasks will take up a majority of this role, and an excellent all-around working knowledge of basic engineering systems is therefore essential.     • C& G, NVQ or similar mechanical discipline
    Desirable
    • Line management qualification, HNC or HND, Competent person, time served apprenticeship
    Experience Essential
    • oExperience of working with advanced plumbing and/or mechanical systems. oFault finding on mechanical with skills to isolate, keep running and fully repair. oExperience of delivering safe water services tasks, temperature monitoring, cleaning and chlorination of taps/TMV's and falt finding on systems.
    Desirable
    • oTo have experience in working within healthcare premises oWorking with a PDA installed with CAFM, MICAD and Zetasafe
    Knowledge and Skills Essential
    • oTo have sound knowledge of mechanical systems. oIn depth knowledge of the HaSaWA and other relevant acts, standards and guidance notes oTo have an understanding of permit to work systems, risk assessments and good working practices.
    • oTo have the ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications o:You have knowledge & awareness of diversity and human rights as appropriate to your role oYou are able to communicate effectively to ensure high standards of care, treatment, service or support as appropriate to your role, oAble to provide a customer focussed service oStrong team and personal organisational and time management skills to manage competing priorities and deadlines, to act from individuals to large groups oTo be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment ensuring all paperwork, drawings and reports are correct.
    Desirable
    • oTo have a sound knowledge in HTM, and HBNs oTo have a basic understanding of asset management (PPM and reactive tasks, SFG 20)
    • oTo be qualified and certificated in IOSH Management oAbility to analyses complex problems and to develop and workable solutions to address them.
