    Job grade: Senior Executive Officer

    Location: London, East Kilbride or Hanslope Park (Milton Keynes) – You will be required to work in line with FCDO policies on Hybrid Working

    Job summary

    London based – The total package for this role at SEO is £41,449 per annum (non-negotiable). This figure includes a non-pensionable, non-consolidated Location Allowance of £2,000.

    East Kilbride based – The total package for this role at SEO is £39,449 per annum (non-negotiable).

    Hanslope Park based – The total package for this role at SEO is £41,199 per annum (non-negotiable). This figure includes a non-pensionable, non-consolidated Outer London Location Allowance of £1,750.

    This role ensures that the UK Security Team delivers the day-to-day security requirements across the UK estate and effectively manages all risks to buildings, staff, information and assets. This is achieved through deployment and integration of both technical and physical security equipment through appropriately skilled staff and procedures.

    The successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for leading the UK Security Team in ensuring the FCDO's day-to-day business is conducted in a safe and secure environment. They will also be responsible for setting the security standards, requirements, policies and operational requirements in line with current Cabinet Office Government Security Framework, whilst ensuring they conform to relevant UK legislation.

    This will require close collaboration with Estate Operations colleagues who deliver security services through various contracts, as well as liaising with a range of key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that security is delivered seamlessly, effectively and efficiently.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will be responsible for:

    • The day-to-day physical security across the FCDO's UK estate and ensuring resilience in the face of disruption
    • Setting security standards, requirements, policies and operational requirements in line with GSF baseline standards, whilst ensuring they meet relevant legislation
    • Implementing FCDO security strategy and policy to ensure the security of buildings, staff, information and assets
    • Ensuring the physical protective security measures are managed in line with operational and legal requirements
    • Providing security guidance to staff, as well as advice and recommendations to senior managers on all aspects of security across the UK estate
    • Leading on all operational requirements and standards for the FCDO estate, ensuring reviews are carried out annually or as required (when security posture changes) and ensuring that all changes to security posture (projects, buildings) are in line with Operational Requirements
    • Establishing strong working relationships with a range of key internal and external stakeholders to support demanding business requirements and liaising with external security services including, but not limited to, the Police, Government Security Zone (GSZ) and Other Government Departments (OGDs) as required
    • Leading on security related Privacy Impact Assessments and General Data Protection Regulation issues across the UK estate and ensuring that reviews are carried out annually or as required when the security posture or requirements change
    • Leading and responding to security incidents and emergencies in line with best practice/standards, whilst remaining calm and supporting others in a controlled and confident manner
    • The successful candidate may be required to affiliate to the relevant specialist network, if not already a member.
