    Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst, based West Yorkshire

We have an amazing Financial Planning (FP&A) Analyst opportunity to join our Group Finance team based in Leeds, West Yorkshire . This is a flexible, hybrid working role giving you the work-life balance to work from home and from the office. If you are someone passionate about or is looking to step into the world of Commercial Finance, you could be joining our team Our successful candidate will assist with the production of global financial forecasts and be the project Finance go-to for our ERP Modernisation Program . You will have significant interaction with the program team, supporting the project direction and being responsible for the financial modelling and tracking of actual spending for Farnell's global ERP modernisation program. Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for someone who has previous experience in Finance , plus CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent . This role is ideally suited to a candidate who is creative , likes to ask questions and find improved solutions , whilst also being patient and eager to understand what happens in today's world. Our FP&A team is small, but they have an extremely strong commercial background , you will learn a lot just by being part of the team and working alongside them. You will also work collaboratively with the wider finance team, helping to support key business functions such as sales, marketing, and supply chain therefore giving you the opportunity to learn about the wider Farnell business every day.     What we are looking for :
    • Experience in developing solutions for a variety of situations and able to determine the best course of action to achieve results even when no precedents exist .
    • Someone who can exercise their judgment whilst working independently or as part of a team.
    • Passion for collaborating across all levels of management and team members and confident in representing the department both internally and externally.
    • The ability to recognise potential risks, and or flawed decisions to reduce delays to projects, loss of revenue or allocation of additional resources to remedy is needed to ensure success of projects.
    • Someone able to articulate complex information in an easily understandable manner.
    • Proven experience in Finance , plus CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent .
    What you will be doing:
    • Interacting significantly with the ERP modernisation program , leading the understanding of and financial modelling of; resource requirements (both permanent and contractor resource), key third party partner contracts and significant capital vs. non-capital expenditure related to the project
    • Producing, reviewing and analysing reports to verify results as well as flagging material risks or opportunities to the global Farnell business achieving its operating income targets.
    • Gathering, analysing, preparing, and summarising recommendations for financial plans, trended future requirements, and operating forecasts
    • Working closely with the regional accounting teams and global commercial finance team during the month-end close process
    • Responding to information requests from internal customers and others as assigned.
    • Developing financial reports for forecasting, trending, and narrative results analysis for management on a monthly and quarterly basis
    • Develops and distributes standard and ad-hoc monthly and quarterly reporting including assisting in the production of weekly revenue and margin reporting, monthly profitability analysis and quarterly Board/committee presentations as required.
    • Works with management and the commercial finance team to develop, monitor and report-out on key financial and non-financial performance indicators for the business.
    • Assists with the development, preparation, and presentation of short- and long-range financial plans.
