    Human Resources Director - Birmingham, United Kingdom - Nuclear Waste Services

    Nuclear Waste Services (NWS) was created with the vision and purpose to make nuclear waste permanently safe, sooner. We bring together the UK's leading nuclear waste management capabilities and our mission is to be the 'one-stop shop' for all radioactive waste management and disposal solutions for the UK. We are a key part of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) group, with the collective long-term mission to clean up nuclear sites sustainably, safely, and securely.

    We seek to appoint a permanent HR Director to help us realize our vision. Reporting to our Corporate Services Director, you will be a key pillar in both our leadership team and the broader NDA group HR community. You will be accountable for:

    1. Supporting our Corporate Services Director to implement corporate decisions and initiatives - such as developing our long-term strategic vision and integrated people strategy
    2. Inspiring and developing your HR teams – ensuring resilience, consistency, and quality whilst maintaining our ability to recruit, attract, retain, and develop great talent
    3. Engaging with key stakeholders – including the NWS board, trades unions, regulators, and the NDA group – to deliver critical programs and projects, notably the standardization of our colleagues' employment terms and conditions

    You will need to be open, approachable, and resilient – willing to invest in building relationships and trust whilst retaining the candor to challenge the status quo when necessary, and influence senior stakeholders. You will also need:

    1. A professionally recognized HR qualification, underpinned by Chartered Membership of CIPD
    2. Operational HR leadership experience in a complex, multi-discipline/matrix-style organization – requiring strong employee relations expertise to contribute to strategic initiatives and planning with clear evidence of leading and successfully completing change programs
