    Part-time (30 hours per week)
    Permanent
    Based in Hertford with the option for home working up to 50% of working hours.
    Closing date is 1st May at 9am.

    We are looking to recruit a hardworking, capable individual with the ability to support potentially vulnerable clients to join our strong housing team.

    In this rewarding role you will join the team responsible for the daily running of the Council's housing register and Choice Based Lettings system.

    You will help assess the eligibility and priority of households for social housing and nominations to available accommodation in line with our Housing Register and Allocations Policy.

    You will need to have excellent customer service skills to answer and deal with telephone and written enquiries from customers.

    You will provide explanations and clarification of housing policy and procedures and give general advice and guidance. This is a good place to start a career in Housing.


    What we are looking for:

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relay complex information clearly and with empathy;
    • A commitment to high standards of customer care;
    • An ability to adopt a methodical and meticulous approach;
    • Strong IT skills including a working knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and a preferred knowledge of Locata;
    • Preferably recent experience of working in housing allocations, either for a Local Authority or a Registered Social Landlord. What can we offer you?
