    Description

    We are seeking an inspirational deputy headteacher to join our hard-working and committed team at Etwall Primary School and work in partnership with the headteacher. We are a form-entry primary school located in South Derbyshire with 315 children on roll. Priding ourselves on being a warm and welcoming school with a real family feel, we put children at the heart of our decision-making and strive to ensure that we provide the best possible educational experience for all.

    This leadership role will include a class-share teaching commitment and 2-3 days of leadership release time.

    Through strategic curriculum design and a focus on improving teaching and learning, our new deputy headteacher will ensure that the highest standards of education are achieved for all pupils.

    Our new Deputy Headteacher will:

  • be a leader who is caring, approachable and willing to go the extra mile to improve educational outcomes for all children.
  • demonstrate curiosity in researching best practice and using evidence-informed approaches to motivate and inspire both staff and pupils
  • have ambition, leading by example with high expectations of themselves and others.
  • be an excellent teacher with a clear understanding of how pupils learn and of the core features of successful classroom practice.
  • lead on curriculum design and implementation, and will support subject leads to monitor and evaluate for impact
  • use instructional coaching as a tool to support staff in continual improvement.
  • demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding, equal opportunities and inclusion as well as understanding, awareness and empathy for all.
