    Job summary

    As a leading Learning Disability and Metal Health Charity, we provide healthcare and support for people with serious mental illness along a recovery pathway influenced by a psychosocial intervention framework. We assess, plan, implement and evaluate in quality driven healthcare records.

    We ensure the people we support can move along a pathway towards independence at their own pace and build their coping and lifestyle skills gradually within a therapeutic environment.

    With a strong track record of over 30 years, we work locally in the community and through our Treatment and Recovery Centres to provide a wide range of innovative and bespoke care services.

    Weaver Lodge Treatment and Recovery Centre in Winsford, Cheshire, is a twenty bedded Mental Health Rehabilitation Centre.

    Main duties of the job

  • Support the manager in building a person centred team, incorporating the principles of AFG's standards of delivery of care to people with mental health problems
  • Inspire team members to deliver excellent care, by displaying positive drive, energy and enthusiasm
  • Take charge of the service in the absence of the manager as required and in accordance with AFG HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide Clinical Leadership to the team to ensure that the clinical needs of service users are met by ensuring that all aspects of care follow evidence based practice and are carried out to the standard required
  • Hold a small caseload for therapeutic interventions with 2 Service Users and lead by example, demonstrating best practice within your team
  • To work along side the Clinical Coordinators to mentor, coach and supervise staff as required in delivering clinical interventions within a psychosocial/person centred framework
  • Attend CPA &/or Ward rounds as much as possible to support Junior staff
  • Observe and maintain awareness of the Mental Health Act 1983 and adhere to the Mental Health Act Commission Code of practice
  • Supervise / Monitor performance of the infection control leads and ensure that regulatory and clinical compliance is surpassed.
