    Description

    Cyber Security Engineer at Reading

    Our client is looking for a skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join their team in Reading. This role requires expertise in web application security, firewalls, vulnerability management, and penetration testing. If you have experience in these areas and are familiar with cloud hosting providers, this could be the role for you.

    As a Senior Cyber Security Engineer, you will:

    • Carry out daily security tasks under an ITIL framework
    • Analyze and recommend effective security controls and system hardening
    • Understand evolving threats and assist in security incident investigations
    • Work towards defined SLAs & KPIs
    • Represent Information Security at IT meetings
    • Assist in patching, vulnerability analysis, and penetration testing
    • Contribute to group security training and review information security solutions

    The ideal candidate:

    • Must possess Security Engineering or SOC experience
    • Detailed knowledge of security products and infrastructure design
    • Understanding of IT protocols, networks, and security operations
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
    • Working towards higher level qualifications in Information Security
    • Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
    • Knowledge of ISO27001, Cyber Essentials, and AAF control frameworks
