Description
About the Role
The Security Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security of our systems and data by identifying vulnerabilities, conducting thorough security analyses, and implementing effective resolutions.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of security principles and practices, with a strong background in penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and issue resolution.
This role requires over five years of experience and holding both Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Penetration Testing:
Conduct regular penetration tests to identify security weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications.nDevelop and execute test plans to simulate real-world cyber attacks.nDocument findings and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate identified risks.
Vulnerability Scanning:
Perform vulnerability scans to detect security flaws and unpatched software.nAnalyze scan results and prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk and impact.nCollaborate with IT teams to remediate vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
Security Analysis:
Conduct thorough security analyses of systems, applications, and networks.nIdentify and assess security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks.nDevelop and implement strategies to protect against cyber threats and enhance overall security posture.
Identification of Unencrypted Sensitive Data:
Identify instances of unencrypted sensitive data across the organization.nDevelop and enforce data encryption policies and practices.nEnsure compliance with data protection regulations and standards.
Issue Resolution:
Investigate and respond to security incidents and breaches.nConduct root cause analysis to identify and address underlying security issues.nImplement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve security measures.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with IT, development, and operations teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle.nProvide technical support and guidance on security best practices.nConduct security training and awareness programs for employees.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.nOver 5 years of experience in security engineering, penetration testing, and vulnerability management.nCertified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification.nCertified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification.nProficiency in security tools and technologies (e.g., Metasploit, Nessus, Burp Suite).nStrong understanding of security principles, practices, and frameworks.nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.nStrong communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field.nExperience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure).nFamiliarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).nKnowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.nExperience with security incident response and forensic analysis.
