    Cyber Security Engineer - Reading/Hybrid

    Cyber security engineer needed to join a expanding cyber security team at a large company catering to millions of customers. This company is heavily investing in cyber security with numerous exciting initiatives and projects to be involved in.

Your responsibilities will include implementing and managing security solutions, controls, and processes across a large-scale business with over 7000 users. This role allows you to leverage your solid understanding of security engineering concepts, technologies, and best practices, as well as deploy tools and enhance capability.

    In addition, you will collaborate efficiently with colleagues from various teams.

      Among your duties, you will:
    • Support the establishment of a secure asset build and system hardening capability
    • Develop cyber security engineering strategies and controls aligned with organisational objectives
    • Aid in creating and updating cyber security engineering documentation, policies, and procedures
    • Integrate cyber security solutions with existing systems, applications, and infrastructure
    • Conduct assessments on cloud security and produce documentation for secure cloud usage
    • Coordinate with technology and business stakeholders on cyber security patching and vulnerability management
    • Develop and sustain dashboards with cyber security engineering metrics

    Reporting to the Lead Cyber Security Engineer, this role provides ample learning opportunities to hone and enhance your skills across various projects.

    To be eligible, you must possess a cyber security background with approximately 1-2 years of experience in a large enterprise setting.

      Key requirements:
    • Comprehensive IT knowledge encompassing infrastructure, network security, and application security
    • Familiarity with MS Stack, including exposure to Active Directory, Entra ID, and Sentinel
    • Understanding of Identity & Access Management, Privileged Access Management (CyberArk), and Network Appliance (Firewalls, VPN, etc.) tooling support and maintenance
    • Linux/Unix knowledge preferred but not mandatory

    Ideally, you should hold a relevant degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Alongside technical skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, good decision-making skills, and excellent communication are also required.

    In return, a salary of up to £50k is offered, along with a benefits package that includes a pension, 26 days of annual leave, medical coverage, and other perks.

    This hybrid role provides significant flexibility to work remotely from home, with an expectation of being in the Reading office 1-2 times per week.
