    Job Title: Teaching Assistant
    Location: York, North Yorkshire
    Start Date: As soon as possible / Immediate
    Contract Type: Full-Time
    Salary: £83 – £98 per day

    Are you passionate about supporting young learners in their educational journey? GSL Education is supporting an Ofsted graded 'Good' School in the north part of York to seek a dedicated and enthusiastic Full Time Teaching Assistant to join our team starting on either April 22nd or April 29th 2024.

    • Over 1000 pupils on roll from Years 7 to 11.

    Teaching Assistant Role Overview:

    • As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and students within the classroom setting.
    • Your responsibilities will include assisting with lesson preparation, providing one-on-one support to students, helping with classroom management, and contributing to the overall welfare and development of all pupils.

    Key Responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant:

    • Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons, predominantly on a 1:1 and small group basis.
    • Working with specifically identified pupils to achieve lesson and objective outcomes, reinforcing learning concepts.
    • Supporting students with special educational needs or those requiring additional help.
    • Helping to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
    • Contributing to the planning and preparation of learning activities.

    Ideal Teaching Assistant requirements:

    • Previous experience working in an educational setting preferred.
    • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Passion for education and making a positive impact on young lives.
    • Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service.
