    Operations Engineering Manager
    Cambridge area

    Cooper Lomaz are seeking a experienced Manager with a background in Electronics and Engineering to manage the Manufacturing Department

    The successful candidate will assume leadership of our Manufacturing operation, and to manage the department based between Cambridge and Newmarket.

    You will play an active role in evolving our organizational structures, building on the strengths of our consensus management tradition to boost productivity and consolidate our client's commitment to quality and will contribute to the management team playing a major role in strategic planning process

    This role includes managing the teams (people and resources) of the Manufacturing Department which includes the production team, product support & repairs, purchasing and goods in.

    Day to day you will manage manufacturing production with responsibility for the delivery and manufacture of product to meet KPIs and ensure on time and in full delivery to our customers, whilst running and maintaining the MRP system, planning and Materials Control functions and optimise stockholding.

    Alongside the day to day you will be confiednent and experienced in helping working within our clients ISO9001 quality management system and you will be charged with the coordination of the manufacturing Dept annual planning and budgeting process to deliver an agreed departmental plan.

    Personal qualities, skills and experience
    Education and experience
    A track record of successful management in a manufacturing /operations role in a technical SME business
    Manufacturing management experience in SMEs within commercial electronics industries
    Demonstrable experience of managing manufacturing processes, purchasing functions and materials planning
    Experience of building commercial relations with contractors and suppliers
    Skills
    Strong and proven people-management skills, and ability to provide leadership within a Manufacturing and purchasing environment.
    Understanding of electronics manufacturing techniques.
    Management and development of team members ensuring effective support
    Excellent skills (in your field), understanding complex relationships between product design and successful manufacture.
    IT skills appropriate to a management position
    Planning and budgeting for Manufacturing Departments

    Leadership, empathy and resilience
    Highly motivated and a self-starter
    Analytical and clear writing and verbal communication
    At ease with technical concepts
    Focused on success
    High ethical standards
