    Default job background
    Full time Engineering / Architecture
    Description

We have a great opportunity for an IT Managed Service Engineer based in or around Cambridgeshire to come and join us here at EMIS on a permanent basis.

This is a great time to join our organisation as we continue our journey of growth and transformation. Everyone here plays a crucial role in the delivery of technology solutions to the healthcare industry, and you will be no different.

Working as part of our Managed Service Engineering team, you will report directly to our Managed Service Delivery Manager and you will provide hardware, software and network fault resolution and installation services, both on site and remotely from home to our customers.

Based in the Cambridgeshire area, you will work mainly Monday to Friday 9-5 with caveat of 1 week out of 6 on a later shift pattern (12:30 PM – 8:30PM) and required to work standby 1 weekend (Saturday and Sunday, 9AM-5PM) out of 8 covering a High priority callout rota.

If you are eager to join an organisation where you have more than just a job, but an opportunity to add value and develop yourself further, then apply today

    What you'll do

As one of our IT Managed Service Engineers, you will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of new systems, upgrade of existing systems to latest software and/or hardware as required, as well as ongoing break-fix and BAU support to predefined SLAs.

As the role is customer facing, it is imperative that providing great customer service is highly important to you. Although a field-based role, you will collaborate with your wider team to ensure we are delivering what is required for our end customers.

    Other roles and responsibilities:

    • Provide thorough and timely reports, clearly identifying any problems and the steps taken to overcome them.
    • Escalate any critical technical issues in a timely manner to your peers, manager, or our support team for speedy resolution.
    • Keep customers fully informed on the progress of work whilst on-site, providing regular updates.
    • Adhere to policy and procedures required as part of your role.

    Who you'll be

If you are a customer focused individual who is technically savvy, then this could just be the role for you. You will have strong technical diagnosis skills with the ability to work closely with our customers on site to resolve queries.

The ability to collaborate effectively with your peers, as well as be self-motivated to work independently is key. You will be eager to self-develop and continue on a path of learning, enhancing your technical knowledge to ensure we deliver the best service possible to our customers.

    Technical skills required include:

    • Knowledge of current Windows Operating Systems, including installation and troubleshooting.
    • Experience of Microsoft Servers.
    • TCP/IP and Windows Networking skills.
    • Experience or knowledge of MS Active Directory installation and configuration.
    • Previous experience in a field based or desktop/IT support role.
    • Quality driven with excellent attention to detail.
    • Naturally we expect you have a full clean driving license.

Please note that a company car is included in this role.

    Our Vision and Your Impact

Our vision is to be the leading provider of innovative healthcare technology that improves people's lives. Are you interested in becoming part of that vision?

Working with our customers, we are leading the way in the delivery of patient centred, connected, digitally enabled health and care services.

Our customers and partners are using our solutions in all health and care settings, from GP surgeries and community care to high street pharmacies, hospitals, clinics, not for profit organisations and specialist services. Ranked in the top five Healthtech organisations in the UK, we are committed to developing the next generation of healthcare technology that will truly make a difference.

    Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion

At EMIS, we are committed to providing an inclusive, equitable culture where people feel able to bring their whole selves to work and to reach their full potential. This is a foundation stone of EMIS, anchoring the employee cycle from recruitment through to ongoing personal development and genuine, continuous two-way employee engagement, supported by our company values which determine everything we do.

EMIS is an equal opportunities employer, and we welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national or ethnic origin, age, disability, protected veteran status, or other characteristics protected by applicable law. We will always work to accommodate individual needs during your application journey. If you require any adjustments, please advise the talent team.
