Product Analyst - London, United Kingdom - Allica Bank

    Allica Bank background
    Description

    About Allica bank

Allica is on a mission to become Britain's most recommended business bank, by providing established SMEs – who represent more than a third of UK GDP – with lending, savings and current accounts, delivered through the latest proprietary technology alongside expert human relationships.

In Deloitte's annual Technology Fast 50 rankings, Allica is the UK's fastest growing technology firm - and the fastest-growing financial technology (fintech) firm ever.

In 2022 Allica became one of the quickest UK fintech firms to reach profitability and closed a £100m Series C investment led by leading global technology investor TCV – investors in the likes of Netflix, Revolut and Spotify. In the last year Allica received more than ten major financial services industry awards, including being named UK business bank of the year and global SME neobank of the year, alongside being named as one of the world's 100 most promising fintech companies by leading global technology research firm CB Insights.

    Department Description

Allica has a modern product function, based around empowered and autonomous product squads. Alongside product specialists, each squad includes colleagues from functions such as engineering, design, marketing and testing. Our product development is fast-paced and collaborative.

We are rare amongst banks in that our senior leadership team have backgrounds at world-leading Fintechs, which shows in their active engagement with our product squad updates, and in our bank-wide adoption of modern tools & techniques such as Scrum/Kanban and Jira.

Because we are working on one of the last untapped Fintech opportunities, it often means that we're often working on entirely new product or technological challenges. No two days are ever the same.

    Role Description

At Allica, our Product Analysts sit at the heart of our product squads, identifying improvements to the product/process which increase customer and business value, and driving these through to delivery.

In our Lending squad you will be mainly working with internal stakeholders, developing a strong empathy for our users and envisioning how they will experience our products / processes. You will work collaboratively with your cross-functional team to manage the end-to-end development cycle, from ideation and analysis through to design, development, testing and release.

In partnership with the Product Owner, you will be responsible for supporting the roadmap of your team, managing and prioritising day-to-day activities, development, planning and execution, and ensuring all risks are addressed.

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Product Analysts understand the product inside out, as well as the wider business and industry context, and any objectives assigned to the product squad to drive the business forward.
    • They analyse product performance and customer interactions, identifying pain points in the process and opportunities for improvement as well as determining how these should be addressed.
    • Product Analyst supports the implementation of any solutions in a simple, elegant and scalable way to ensure that we are consistently delivering the best experience and value to our users.
    • Our Product Analysts may not be the final decision maker, but they are responsible for ensuring that the right decision is made. They collect and analyse the right data, and effectively present it to business stakeholders, ensuring that they have the right audience, and the correct decision makers.
    • Product Analysts at Allica are passionate about driving customer and business value, enthusiastic about the use of technology and are analytically and data minded.

    Personal Attributes & Experience

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an affinity for breaking complex and broad problems down in a logical and structured manner
    • Evidence of a bias towards execution, and a proven track record of delivering stuff
    • Data minded, with experience solving problems with large, complex data sets
    • Experience in banking/ Fintech and good understanding of the overall lending process
    • Self-motivated, ambitious and have a strong sense of will-to-win - looking to grow fast and learn quickly within a rapidly scaling organisation
    • Works quickly, without compromising on quality, and has high attention to detail
    • An interest in both the strategic and operational sides of product
    • Strong affinity for technology and product development, with the ability to challenge an approach or spot something that's missing
    • Able to communicate complex problems and analysis simply to a variety of stakeholders (both technical and non-technical)
    • Intellectually curious, with a natural inclination to unpick complex problems and to learn challenging new skills
    • Experience of working with customer insight, and developing new propositions within the banking sector is preferable but not essential
