    Job Summary

    This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Leadership team in Neurosurgery at Ward 43 / NECU, a Neurosurgical ward providing care for patients with spinal or brain injuries. The ward consists of 34 beds and 12 Enhanced care beds. The role involves rotating between both the ward and NECU.

    Main Duties of the Job

    Ward 43 Clinical Sisters / Charge Nurse are responsible for maintaining high standards of care and supporting the management team. The management team, in return, will assist in your professional development and offer guidance for your career aspirations. The post holder will be responsible for coordinating the ward and working clinically, understanding operational demands and clinical pressures while ensuring quality care and patient safety.

    Neurosurgical experience is not a requirement for this role.

    Job Description

    Job Responsibilities

    • Accountable for actions following the Code of Professional Conduct and contributing to corporate objectives
    • Effectively communicate clinical information to patients, carers, and the multi-professional team
    • Provide clinical leadership and support to the management team, participating in service and policy development
    • Clinical assessment and management of patients, ensuring appropriate care planning and evaluation
    • Organize cross-departmental activities and manage clinical events effectively
    • Develop and educate staff, ensuring proper IT system utilization for accurate data
    • Support patients and carers during difficult situations, promoting Health and Safety policies
    • Maintain a clean and safe clinical environment adhering to infection control standards
