    Garment Technologist - London, United Kingdom - V&C

    V&C have partnered with a UK Men's Formalwear Brand that are committed to driving fashion, style, quality and consistency and are recruiting for a Senior Garment Technologist, working closely with the design, product development teams, executing overseas factory audits providing end ensuring quality across the collection.

    As a rapidly growing business you will have the opportunity to push forwards the Fit and the Quality of the product.

    You will also be involved in multiple areas of the business, with opinions that are genuinely appreciated and taken on board.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • You lead a team of 4 and you play a central role in the strategic quality managementYou are the lead for quality management projects and you follow them through until the endYour set KPIs for the evaluation of your team members, 3rd party providers and the quality control abroadSupporting design by advising measurements and construction details for specsA strong technical knowledge of garments fitting, grading and construction is essentialCovering many product areas working across outerwear and tailoring productionMeasuring samples and creating fit workbooks from 1st fit to seal to ensure the garments are correct to Brands requirementsChecking grading for production to ensure consistency within the productsReviewing base and bulk test reports for clients and advising on and approving washing instructionsLiaising with global factories support across fit and production, by providing clear instructions and support where neededYou manage data analysis in order to identify weaknesses and strengths in structuresYou develop SOPs, guidelines, manuals and requirements for 3rd party provider and quality control abroadYou support the team lead in budget planning and hiring process managementYour take care of efficient utilization of resources as well as train and develop team membersYour steer all activities in the quality team; enhance, standardize, monitor and develop quality management processes internallyYou provide support in the existing product lifecycle management systemsYou report autonomous to the team lead quality managementYou drive seasonal reviews for our supplier performances

    Key Requirements:

    • You have a successfully completed studies in garment technology, or in a similar fieldYou have minimum 5 years of working experience (preferably abroad) in the textile industry, garment technology, product development, i.e. quality control manager, senior product developer or/and project management.
    You have proven leadership experience, enjoy managing a team, training skills and very good interpersonal skillsYou have experience with product compliance and sustainability and comprehensive experiences with production and manufacturing facilitiesYou have a decision-maker personality with a pragmatic approach with the declared intention to drive and implement changesYou can work strategically, analytically, solution-oriented; challenging the status quo and developing alternative solutions autonomouslyYou have a very good sense of ownership for problems and excellence within the team and across departments
