Job overview
We have some exciting opportunities to join our Band 7 Team within the Diabetes Team within the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust (UHDB).
We are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking individual who wish to become part of a successful Diabetes Team across Southern Derbyshire, North Leicestershire and East Staffordshire with an interest in diabetes.
Our team cover a number of sub-specialities including Pumps, Antenatal, Renal, General Outpatients - Staffordshire and Inpatients amongst others. We are looking for experienced nurses who would be interested in being a Lead for one of these areas however you would be expected to work across all areas within the team and provide cross cover where required.
The successful applicant should have demonstrable experience in delivering and managing education to a variety of health care professionals in an acute setting.
Successful applicant will be expected to work across all Diabetes Services and sites within the Trust as required depending on service priorities.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for individuals with broad experience as a Specialist Nurse within Diabetes, a positive outlook and a passion for driving services forward. Experience across Inpatient / Outpatient / Community settings, managing complex diabetes cases, autonomous working and team management skills would be essential.
Individuals would work as Lead nurse for a specialist area, becoming a clinical specialist for that area and taking on education and development specific to that role and working with the Band 6 Diabetes Specialist nurses as well as all other staff within the Diabetes and Endocrinology service to develop their knowledge and skills as they rotate through your area/work alongside you.
