    Role

    The Head of Scotland and Northern Ireland is responsible for leading our vision to end the need for food banks inScotland and Northern Ireland.

    Scotland currently leads the way in having a rights-based, progressive agenda toending the need for food banks, but there is much to do to ensure political intentions become a reality.

    Thisrole directs Trussell Trust's policy and public affairs work in Scotland and Northern Ireland, leads ourScotland and Northern Ireland department as they support our network of food banks and works strategically withkey partners to tackle the underlying reasons why people need to come to food banks.

    The main focus of this new role is to grow and develop supporter relationships that secure the longer-termsustainability of ELFB through grants, corporate donations and sponsorships.

    This role would be suited to someone with strong written communication skills and relationship building skills who isdriven and well organised.

    Key responsibilities
    Respond positively and professionally to supporter enquiries
    Identify and research funders, develop andmaintain a pipeline of prospects
    Build and maintain relationships with funders
    Make applicationsto funders ranging from letters to small family trusts to large and complex lottery or statutory bodybids.
    Ensure funding bid and reporting deadlines are adhered to and maintain productive relationshipswith all funders
    Report on performance and social outcomes
    Actively promote and encouragefundraising activity within the community
    Represent ELFB at fundraising and networking events asrequired
    Work closely with the Foodbank Manager to establish fundraising targets and strategy
    Support thedevelopment of a calendar of fundraising events
    Lead the development of supporter communications toeffectively engage with all areas of the community across all channels including digital media
    Ensurecompliance with all regulations, codes of practice and best practice in the sector
    Positively representELFB and its work at events, meetings and strive to increase awareness of the Organisations work and need forsupport
    Embed a fundraising culture throughout ELFB that maximises all opportunities for engagement andsupport.

    Person Specification
    Experience of working in a fundraising role
    Experience of securing funds/contracts
    Experience ofdeveloping and submitting successful written applications
    Excellent written and face to facecommunication skills and the ability to connect with a range of different people
    Able to support andcontribute in a committed and diverse team
    Ability to manage time effectively including working to tightdeadlines
    Computer literacy with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
    Experience within the charity voluntary sector
    Understanding of GDPR and compliance re data handling
    Understanding of the causes and factors contributing to food insecurity and food poverty, and the need for crisis and more than food responses
    Knowledge of the funding landscape across Scotland
    The Butterfly Trust is the lead agency providing social support for people affected by Cystic Fibrosis throughoutScotland.

    We provide a comprehensive and diverse range of outreach services for all ages of people with CysticFibrosis and their families across Scotland.

    The Children & Families Manager will be responsible for the delivery of services for children affected by CysticFibrosis and their carers.

    This will include providing support and supervision to our team of volunteerbefrienders.

    The role is based in our Edinburgh office but will involve travelling throughout Scotland to visit service users,provide support to volunteers and meet with specialist NHS Cystic Fibrosis team in hospitals.

    The Children & Families Manager will be part of a team, which collectively provides support that ensures bestoutcomes for people living with Cystic Fibrosis.

    The successful candidate will have good communication, problem-solving and organisational skills and they will beable to motivate others and work with people at all levels.

    Full driving licence and a car is essential.

    For this regulated work the successful candidate will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership which willbe paid for by the Trust.
