    Job Description

    Technical Administrator (ICT)

    Part Time (3 days)

    Permanent

    We are looking for a committed, enthusiastic, customer-focused individual with good communication skills to join our busy team. You will be involved in the support of the Council's hardware and software systems and will have a keen interest in ICT, with a willingness to learn.

    You will be responsible for responding to 1 st line support requests on the phone and by email, maintaining client records and ICT Asset information, assisting with ICT purchasing requests, producing performance information associated with the ICT Service and assisting with the maintenance of procedures associated with the role.

    This presents an ideal opportunity for someone setting out on a career in ICT to gain valuable experience in a busy ICT team. It would also be suitable for someone with previous ICT experience who is looking for a part time position.

    Requirements

    • Provision of 1 st line support for the ICT Service.
    • Administration activities associated with purchase ordering for the ICT Service.
    • Maintain client records.
    • Collation of reports and production of performance information.
    • Maintain procedures

    The Individual

    • Experience of working in an ICT environment.
    • Experience in an administration role.
    • Experience of working in a customer service environment.
    • Knowledge of the range of services offered by The Moray Council.
    • Higher Computing or equivalent.
    • 4 SQA Standard Grades or equivalent at grade 3 or above including Maths and English.
    • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
    • Ability to prioritise workload.
    • Ability to meet set deadlines.
    • Effective communicator both verbal and written.
    • Confidentiality.
    • Self-motivated.
    • Flexible to meet the needs of the service.
    • Working knowledge of ICT Systems.
    • A good level of 'day-to-day' computer skills.
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Able to research and present information.
    • Ability to absorb and process technical information.
    • Ability to relate to all levels of staff.
    • Ability to interact with colleagues and work as part of a team.
    • Able to accept direction and delegation.
    • Effective communication and influencing skills.
    • Ability to deal with and resolve conflicting issues and interests.
    • Able to work in an open plan office.
    • Ability to work in different offices depending upon service requirements.
    • Ability to transport items of computer equipment in line with health and safety requirements.
