Job descriptionJob responsibilities
Toprovide specialist psychological assessments for children and young peoplereferred to CAMHS based upon the appropriate use, interpretation, andintegration of data from a variety of sources including psychological andneuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct andindirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients,family members and others involved in the clients care.
Toformulate, implement and recommend plans to multi-disciplinary colleagues, professionalsin other agencies and parents/carers for the formal psychological treatmentand/or management of a clients mental health problems, based upon anappropriate conceptual framework of the clients problems, and employingmethods based upon evidence of efficacy across the full range of care settings.
Tobe responsible for implementing a range of specialist psychologicalinterventions with children, young people, and their families with complex andsevere mental health problems by demonstrating the ability to synthesisedifferent explanatory models and adjust/refine psychological formulations toguide specialist interventions.
Toevaluate and make decisions about appropriate and evidence-based treatmentoptions, considering both theoretical and therapeutic models and highly complexfactors concerning historical and developmental processes that have shaped theindividual, family or group.
Toprovide specialist psychological advice guidance and consultation to otherprofessionals contributing directly to clients formulation, diagnosis, andtreatment plan.
Toundertake risk assessment and risk management for individual children, youngpeople, and their families, and to provide advice to other professionals on thepsychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management. This includescontributing the CAMHS self-harm and duty response rotas
