    Internal Audit one-year Industrial Placement

    IG Group is on the lookout for a driven undergraduate pursuing a degree in finance, accounting, or a business-related field to partake in a -month, fully compensated industrial placement. This opportunity provides firsthand exposure to the intricacies of a FTSE Internal Audit division.

    What you will do

    As a member of the Internal Audit team at IG Group, you will collaborate with professionals situated in the UK, Poland, and South Africa. The team's primary objective is to evaluate business risks and the efficacy of their operational controls by conducting audits across pivotal business sectors to pinpoint gaps and issues that need attention.

    The position can be customized according to the successful candidate's competencies and preferences. Depending on your expertise, you may engage with the IT audit team to review technological processes such as software development, IT operations, and cybersecurity. Alternatively, you can focus on financial, operational, and compliance auditing.

    This role offers the chance to acquire practical experience within a broad functional area responsible for evaluating and auditing the risk and control infrastructure that underpins the company's success, involving:

    • Attending stakeholder meetings
    • Documenting business activity walkthroughs
    • Evaluating risks and testing control mechanisms
    • Enhancing data analytics proficiencies and exploring AI capabilities and techniques

    What you need for this role

    • Passion for financial services, with preferred exposure to trading IG's product suite
    • Keen eye for detail
    • Ability to grasp and assimilate new information swiftly
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

    Program Structure

    • Duration: -month placement
    • Salary: Competitive pro-rata compensation
    • Location: City of London
    • Work model: hybrid (office days per week)

    Throughout the -month tenure, you will gain insights into various business operations encompassing strategy, commercial expansion, back-office functions, finance, risk control, and compliance. After onboarding, a designated manager will guide and mentor you. You will partake in training sessions with fellow graduates and access a vast array of learning resources within the IG ecosystem, while being integrated into a wider community of graduates to foster networking opportunities.

    Upon successful completion of the program, you will be eligible to apply for our graduate initiative.
