    Project Risk Manager - Warrington, Cheshire, United Kingdom - Nuclear Decommissioning Authority

    Description
    The location for this role is flexible, hybrid working from one of our NDA offices in the UK.
    **Is the NDA specialist for project risk management with extensive knowledge and experience of embedding and maturing project and enterprise risk management.

    Will design and develop the NDA project risk management framework for management of project risk exposure including interface document QMS (for both OpCo & NDA) and will drive the implementation plan across the NDA group.

    Will design and lead risk-focused assurance reviews across the group, in alignment with the risk assurance plan, to provide confidence in the effectiveness of risk management.

    Represent NDA in external risk forums related to project risk management and related methodologies and provide thought leadership.

    Lead the design and development of strategy and procedures for project risk management within the context of NDA Group Integrated Project Controls (IPC).

    Support the programme risk manager in the development of the strategy and procedures for programme and portfolio risk management within the context of NDA Group Integrated Project Controls (IPC).

    Support the programme risk manager in the design and development of guidance to ensure risk management theory is executed in pragmatic and proportionate manner including how key risk information is presented in project / programme business cases and supporting documents.

    Lead and provide oversight of risk management to key NDA projects and ensure upskilling of risk management to NDA project teams.

    Support development of the risk management strategy / framework and risk management vision to support the 3-year strategic plan and proactively steer implementation;
    Support identification of good practice methods and tools for technical risk modelling and analysis and promote adoption in risk management across the NDA group;
    Manage periodic assessment of programme and project risks highlighting key risk themes, trends and assess key risk exposure, robustness of controls and provide monitoring on progress of improvement actions;
    especially around delivery of projects, programmes, strategic objectives and related risks;
    Provide input to regular reports to NDA governance forums including the Executive team, Audit Risk and Assurance Committee (ARAC) and NDA Board that highlights key risks / risk themes and assesses risk exposure, robustness of key controls and provides monitoring on progress of improvement actions;

    Represent NDA in external risk forums to test the project risk management and related methodologies and provide thought leadership.

    Set up and operate internal to NDA group, relevant risk forums and community of practice groups to enable effective collaboration and collective development of risk information and sharing of internal and external knowledge.

    Support the development of the NDA Group Risk Assurance Plan including planning, prioritising and communicating risk assurance activities across the group.

    Design and undertake risk assurance to provide confidence risk management activities are being undertaken in a transparent, consistent and effective manner, as required and in accordance with the NDA Group Risk Assurance plan.

    Design and develop reporting of risk assurance findings to senior stakeholders quarterly e.g.

    Support the Risk Director in developing and coaching an NDA team of committed, capable Risk Managers and specialists to deliver the vision for risk management across the NDA group and OpCo risk communities.

    Technical risk
    Be recognised as a technical expert in project and enterprise risk management, having broad and deep knowledge, experience in implementation, change and holding others to account
    Plan and drive risk management activities across diverse organisational boundaries e.g., Communicate the project risk management process and procedures effectively at senior levels of the organisation and across functional and cultural boundaries
    Manage and co-ordinate a diverse range of risk management activities when dealing with highly complex competing pressures and priorities
    Build and maintain strong, credible relationships with colleagues, external partners and senior stakeholders, working across a broad range of disciplines
    Proven communication, influencing and persuasion skills at all levels of management
    Must be open and flexible to / and actively seek other's ideas and viewpoints and promote a growth mindset
    Strong analytical skills to support decision making and knowledge management
    Experience of delivering high quality written reports covering complex issues and data visualisation
    Shares and demonstrates the NDA values of, Respect, Openness, Collaboration, Performance and Creativity.
    Professional qualification with proven, diverse, direct experience in risk management across a regulated organisation or industry
    Relevant accreditation/ experience in project and programme management
