    ABOUT YOU

    You will have a wealth of experience within cyber security and have a proven track record of building successful relations to grow a business further.

    Required skills and experience:

    • Demonstrable background in sales – tenacious, target driven and commercially focused, confident, positive, resilient, and above all ambitious.
    • Experienced – Corporate sales (ideally B2B experience in similar IT, consultancy or professional services), full sales cycle (prospecting-quoting-closing), managing longer sales cycles rather than quick wins
    • Track Record – evidence of exceeding sales targets and key achievements, including demonstrable success in recent new business acquisition
    • Fit – Appropriate next step for stage of career, keen on making a difference in a small team rather than riding on external global vendor branding
    • Smart – quick learner, able to get up to speed and pick up detailed service and industry knowledge
    • Insight – to correctly qualify and manage prospects and accounts
    • Excellent writing and grammar skills with keen attention to detail – picking up on specific client requirements and producing accurate written proposals
    • High standards – take ownership of own performance and account-related issues
    • Professional – do the right thing by customer, self and company

    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

    As the Business Development Manager, you will focus on core sectors include Government and finance, as well as legal, emergency services and charities; the BDM will be expected to strengthen our position in these markets as well as source, identify and convert opportunities in existing/emerging sectors.

    Key activities:

    • Agile working (office, remote/home and client site visits)
    • Sell consultants time, rather than products – the output is advice and recommendations, not software or boxes, with each service tailored to some degree rather than off-the-shelf
    • Focused on new business generation from outbound activity – cold calling/emailing (100+ activities per week)
    • Retain and develop all accounts won
    • Role gradually encompasses more account management as clients are won and retained
    • National accounts, all verticals
    • Leverage our position within established sectors, break into less developed sectors
    • Arrange and run meetings where necessary (chaperoned initially)
    • Produce formal written quotes and tender responses
