    Description

    With around 80 team members, our growing Brussels' office is focused on the delivery of integrated European Affairs and Communications support to its clients across a broad range of sectors.

    As a result of a new collaboration with global technology trade association Information Technology Industry Council (ITI), we are seeking an experienced communications consultant who will support the Client, and the Technology practice of Rud Pedersen Public Affairs.

    ITI is the premier global advocate for technology, representing the world's most innovative companies. It promotes public policies and industry standards that advance competition and innovation, worldwide.

    Key Tasks – ITI:

    • Develop ITI's Europe-focused communications strategy in partnership with ITI's Brussels office.
    • Responsibilities will include:
      • Effective media relations, including developing and working with the Brussels press corps.
      • Developing and applying effective, social media tactics.
      • Identifying speaking and engagement opportunities.
      • Identify and leverage external opportunities to highlight ITI's work.
      • Organizing events
      • Written communications, including articles and press releases.
      • Ensure effective communication with members and other key stakeholders.
      • Liaise regularly with members and other key affiliates.

    Key Tasks – Rud Pedersen:

    • Propose and direct a full-range of integrated public affairs/communications services on behalf of clients from direct outreach to media relations;
    • Lead account teams to deliver client work, ensuring quality of service and the delivery of the right services at the right time;
    • Generate and implement ideas for new services/products for their business area.
    • Identify and support the conversion of new business opportunities from their own network;
    • Lead the development of new business proposals and pitches;
    • Represent RPPA at external events and build relationships with external stakeholders at an appropriate level;
    • Actively contribute to the development of junior colleagues and share and exchange ideas with team members.

    What we are looking for:

    A mid level professional who can, supported by ITI's communications colleagues based in the US, autonomously fulfill the tasks as detailed above. Flexibility, and ability to multi-task are essential. Although experience in the technology area would be advantageous, this is not considered essential. The key requisite is expertise in communication.

    Specifically the successful candidate will:

    • Have the ability to create and implement strategic communications programmes;
    • Be experienced in implementing and developing campaign strategies;
    • Be highly competent in the creation and implementation of social media strategies and campaigns;
    • Interact comfortably with key contacts in the EU Institutions and the wider Brussels bubble.
    • Liaise effectively with Association members, and other working groups.
    • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the interests of the Members and the core challenges of the Association and its goals.
    • Bring in the region of 5 years' relevant experience.
    • Have an excellent command of written and spoken English.
