    JOB PROFILE

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Solution design and development:
    Contribute significantly to the design, development, and implementation of system solutions. Participate actively in greenfield development projects, offering insights, ideas, and technological expertise to ensure the successful delivery of quality software


    AWS Expertise:

    Act as the team's AWS authority, using your superior knowledge to guide the team in best practices for AWS solutions.

    This includes implementing, automating, and maintaining AWS services, as well as helping the team navigate complex AWS tasks and projects.



    DevOps Practices:
    Utilize Azure DevOps to support continuous integration and continuous delivery processes.

    This includes using Azure DevOps tools to manage code repositories, build, test, and deploy applications, and monitor system performance and issues.



    Quality Assurance:
    Maintain high standards for software quality and work on continuous improvement of system design and architecture. Review code for potential improvements and collaborate with the team to implement changes.


    Problem solving:
    Assist in troubleshooting and resolving system failures or degradations. Work with other team members to identify root causes and implement long-term solutions


    • Cross-functional collaboration: Work with other teams and stakeholders within the company to understand their needs and translate them into system requirements. This includes collaborating on project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.

    Knowledge sharing:
    Share your knowledge and expertise with the team. Mentor junior engineers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

    The responsibilities detailed above are not exhaustive and you may be requested to take on additional responsibilities deemed as reasonable by their direct line manager.


    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Within a commercial environment, you should be/have:
    • Highly proficient in Python
    • Strong AWS experience with particular emphasis on compute services
    • Experience creating Terraform scripts for infrastructure provisioning and management
    • Good experience in manipulating different file types such as JSON
    • Knowledge and experience of Agile development methodologies
    • Good understanding of GIT
    Desirable skills


    • Knowledge of automated delivery processes, including Azure DevOps Pipelines
    • Qualified to degree level in software engineering or equivalent
    • Experience of migrating applications to cloud-based micro services
    • Working in distributed development teams
