    As Senior Power System Engineer you'll be the lead technical specialist in the field of Power system modelling, Realtime Analysis, and system study, to deliver strategic objectives.

    You'll maintain up to date technical expertise on tools and techniques, develop training methods and improvements in the organisation of Power network modelling and analysis. In addition, you'll develop the future technology for implementation of Power Network Analysis.

    You'll be responsible for delivering the Power network model and Power Network Analysis (PNA) tools, as well as building and testing the Training simulator instances for customer requirements.

    Resolution of real time issues to ensure robust and reliable results, liaising with teams within NGET, IT, training teams and 3rd Parties are key accountabilities of the role, and you'll also lead on the implementation of new asset types and changes to existing assets within the Analysis & Modelling team.

    This role is based at our offices in Warwick and can be combined with hybrid working from home.

    What you'll need

  • Good understanding of RMS or EMT tools such as DigSilent Power Factory or PSCAD network analysis tools including calculation, data management and system interfaces.
  • Good understanding of power system Network design.
  • AC and DC power electronics systems modelling.
  • Good stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience of policy and documentation review and creation.
  • Experience of integrating change into routine business practices.
  • Leadership and management experience is desirable.
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Degree – Power system/ electrical engineering.
