    Description

    Beauty WriterThe Independent is looking for a new beauty writer to join its eCommerce team on a six-month fixed term contract.

    The successful candidate will have previous experience in beauty journalism, with first-class pitching and writing skills, as well as a track record of working with social media.

    They must also have their finger on the pulse when it comes to new launches, popular brands and trending products, and have a good relationship with industry brands and PRs.

    Key responsibilitiesPitching relevant beauty ideas that will resonate with The Independent's audienceWriting beauty news, reviews, evergreens, features and first-person piecesWork with the Audience Team to ensure content is sufficiently optimised for SearchShoot video content as required for social mediaSkills and experienceBeauty writing experienceStrong SEO awarenessKnowledge of social and search trendsFamiliar using CMSExperience working across social media platformsPhotoshop skills, preferredDiversity, Equity and InclusionWe champion diversity in our teams and in our reporting.
