    Join Our Team as a Legal Practice Manager!

    Are you an experienced legal Practice Manager looking for a new and varied role with an enhanced salary and benefits package?

    We are thrilled to be partnering with a reputable client in the Gateshead area who is seeking to hire a Practice Manager on a full-time, permanent basis. As the Practice Manager, you will oversee the operations and personnel of a busy and growing law practice. This dynamic role involves various aspects of the business, including collaboration with partners on compliance and legal issues. The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

    There is potential for remote work and flexible working hours to accommodate individual needs.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Lead the accounts department, managing day-to-day and annual financial responsibilities.
    • Offer expert advice on regulatory compliance, including the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and Solicitors' Accounts Rules (SARs).
    • Coordinate insurance, accreditation, and practising certificate renewals.
    • Work with external suppliers to enhance performance systems.
    • Enforce best practices in alignment with Lexcel, CQS, and SRA standards.
    • Update office policies and procedures as required.
    • Maintain the firm's website content updated and accurate.
    • Prepare data for annual SARs audits and year-end accounts.
    • Handle payroll duties.
    • Assist accountants with Partners' tax filings.
    • Ensure prompt NI/Tax payments to HMRC.
    • Oversee Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII) renewals.
    • Supervise Head of Accounts and reception staff/post room.
    • Manage HR tasks, including recruitment and staff benefits.
    • Process Practising Certificate bulk renewals.
    • Create a positive work environment and address employee needs.
    • Ensure overall IT functionality across the firm.
    • Maintain Cyber Essentials standards.

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience as a Practice Manager in a reputable solicitors' firm.
    • Solid comprehension of Solicitors' Accounts Rules and SRA requirements.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to manage deadlines effectively.
    • Familiarity with legal case management systems and Microsoft tools.
