Band 8a Eating Disorder Lead and Family Therapist - Bristol, United Kingdom - Avon & Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust
Description
We are looking for an established Family Therapist to lead our Eating Disorder treatment pathway, and support the wider provision of Family Therapy within the North Bristol CAMHS team.
As our lead for Eating Disorder treatment, you would also be working closely with the wider AWP CAMHS Community Eating Disorder Service, which has undergone outstanding transformation over the last two years. The pathway now includes an Eating Disorder Home Treatment team and community NG feeding, which is in the second year of a pilot. We also benefit from an eating disorder 'Hub', which is a small team of dedicated ED clinicians who work alongside locality CAMHS and provide additional interventions to support young people to remain at home as far as is practically possible. We aim to reduce rates of admission and length of stay to acute hospitals, and reduce the need for admissions to CAMHS General Adolescent Units (GAUs) and Specialist Eating Disorder Units (SEDUs).
The post holder will be a senior member of the team offering consultation and clinical supervision to other team members. They will also be part of the Team Leadership Group, and therefore have an active role in developing the service to become more effective and inclusive.
North Bristol is an area of significant disparities in health, wealth and access. We are committed to working in a manner which is inclusive and anti-oppressive, and invite applications from staff who share these values.
This would therefore involve:
A more exhaustive list of duties is provided in the enclosed Job Description/Person Specification document. About us Within North Bristol CAMHS, we are committed to creating a culture of authenticity within the team, where staff can bring their whole selves to work, and we have a strong focus on staff wellbeing. Within North Bristol CAMHS, we have monthly allocated wellbeing time where staff can do activities that nourish them, such as taking a walk in the large woodland our clinic backs onto. We also have options for part-time working, flexible working and compressed hours to ensure that staff can maintain an appropriate work-life balance.
Within AWP, there are peer support groups for staff from the global majority and those who are LGBTQ+. Across CAMHS, we are working to develop a regular staff reflective space where all practitioners can explore how our own experiences, privileges and needs intersect in our work. We are also keen for people to share their experiences from other roles and settings where they have received support which have helped them to develop and thrive.
At AWP we actively encourage applicants from all backgrounds we are particularly keen to encourage applications from people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, those with disabilities and from the LGBTQ+ community. We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge to AWP, as diversity makes us stronger. Job description Job responsibilities
