    Default job background
    Description

We are looking for an established Family Therapist to lead our Eating Disorder treatment pathway, and support the wider provision of Family Therapy within the North Bristol CAMHS team.

As our lead for Eating Disorder treatment, you would also be working closely with the wider AWP CAMHS Community Eating Disorder Service, which has undergone outstanding transformation over the last two years.

The pathway now includes an Eating Disorder Home Treatment team and community NG feeding, which is in the second year of a pilot.

We also benefit from an eating disorder 'Hub', which is a small team of dedicated ED clinicians who work alongside locality CAMHS and provide additional interventions to support young people to remain at home as far as is practically possible.

We aim to reduce rates of admission and length of stay to acute hospitals, and reduce the need for admissions to CAMHS General Adolescent Units (GAUs) and Specialist Eating Disorder Units (SEDUs).

The post holder will be a senior member of the team offering consultation and clinical supervision to other team members.

North Bristol is an area of significant disparities in health, wealth and access.

As our Eating Disorder Lead, you would be leading on the provision of assessment and treatment for young people presenting with an Eating Disorder.

Providing consultation to CAMHS team members outside of the Eating Disorder pathway who are working with young people presenting with disordered eating

Ensuring that young people receive an evidence-based intervention for the treatment of their Eating Disorder, both through your own direct clinical work and through the supervision you provide for other clinical staff.

You would also play an active role in delivering Family Therapy to young people working with North Bristol CAMHS who do not have an Eating Disorder, alongside our team's Family Therapy Lead.

Within North Bristol CAMHS, we are committed to creating a culture of authenticity within the team, where staff can bring their whole selves to work, and we have a strong focus on staff wellbeing.

Within North Bristol CAMHS, we have monthly allocated wellbeing time where staff can do activities that nourish them, such as taking a walk in the large woodland our clinic backs onto.

We also have options for part-time working, flexible working and compressed hours to ensure that staff can maintain an appropriate work-life balance.

Across CAMHS, we are working to develop a regular staff reflective space where all practitioners can explore how our own experiences, privileges and needs intersect in our work.

We are also keen for people to share their experiences from other roles and settings where they have received support which have helped them to develop and thrive.

At AWP we actively encourage applicants from all backgrounds we are particularly keen to encourage applications from people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds, those with disabilities and from the LGBTQ+ community.

We want people to bring their unique blend of experiences, backgrounds, perspectives and knowledge to AWP, as diversity makes us stronger.

Lead the specialist Eating Disorder Clinic, including interpreting referral data and ensuring robust clinic management.

Work alongside our team's Family Therapy Lead in delivering systemic therapies, and developing systemic clinics for the treatment of various mental health needs.

Ensure families receive interventions according to NICE guidance and local pathways of care.

Hold a caseload and use resources creatively to provide an excellent therapy for children, young people and families tailoring therapeutic interventions to meet the needs of service users.

Work alongside the senior management team, to support excellent leadership and governance within CAMHS.

Liaise effectively with referrers, local CAMHS and Adult Services and to work alongside teams to offer seamless service delivery when work transfers over to other teams and services.
