    Description

    Little Kingshill Combined School is a thriving and friendly primary school that is looking for a Bursar to work in our beautiful school.

    We actively support the career development of our staff, enabling everyone in our school family to reach their full potential.

    With that in mind we would be willing to support the development of the Bursar through the SBM Apprenticeship.
    Term time only
    BPS 3-4 Depending on Experience (£27,310 - £31,645) pro rata

    FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Monitoring the budget throughout the year.
    • Monthly reconciliation of the school's financial position with transaction and summary reports prepared by County, identifying and correcting errors and discrepancies on County's figures.
    • To receive latest information and instructions from County departments on budgets, payroll, personnel, suppliers, etc.
    • Completion of all financial tasks from the receipt and recording of all income in school, for the main school budget and for the school's private fund accounts, banking, payment of invoices, reconciling bank accounts, preparation of the monthly VAT return and monthly two-way reconciliation for the council's records.
    • Annual reporting of School Fund accounts to the Charity Commission, and making gift aid claims on a regular basis. Ensure prompt assessment and payment of insurance premiums and administer claims as necessary.
    • Prepare regular claims for reimbursement of purchases made on behalf of the Schools PTA (FOLKS) through the school budget.
    • Ensure all financial records are maintained accurately and in accordance with financial requirements and regulations.
    • Keep a record of Pupil Premium and Sports Premium Grant spending.
    • Ensure that the school maintains compliance with SFVS requirements.
    • Nursery funding administration, including monitoring 30 hours funding and issuing invoices.
    • Liaise on behalf of the Headteacher, with the Site Supervisor, Bucks CC, and specific contractors regarding maintenance matters associated with the school's sites and buildings.
    • You may be required to assist the Caretaker in liaising with suppliers and contractors to obtain quotes for new projects, repairs, etc., Provide financial input for feasibility studies and business cases in support of applications for funding of capital projects.

    Preparing monthly payroll information for Payroll provider to meet strict deadlines, checking proposed run before pay-day, entering details onto school's records and reconciling monthly.


    • OFFICE RESPONSIBILITES
    • When the Secretary is not available, receive visitors, answer telephone, assist Headteacher, Governors, teachers, pupils and parents.
    • Experience in financial/administrative management role
    Diploma in Management Studies, accountancy qualification, HND Business Studies)

    • Certificate of School Business Management (CSBM)
    Development and operation of financial management systems

    • Knowledge of financial, personnel and administrative systems, associated policies and codes of practice, and an understanding of relevant legislation.
    • Management of administrative and financial systems
    • Relate well to children and adults, and demonstrate the ability to communication well both verbally and in written form;
    • Superhuman qualities
