    Are you looking for an opportunity to work in a hospital pharmacy setting and study for a funded Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy?

    York Hospital is looking for enthusiastic and patient focused pharmacist/trainee pharmacist to join our friendly Pharmacy post is ideal for someone wanting to develop their clinical knowledge and skills.

    Main duties of the job

    In this full-time role, you will have the opportunity to gain clinical experience in many different specialities such as; elderly care, respiratory, diabetes, cardiology, stroke, gastroenterology, acute medical admissions and will also undertake a 4-month placement in Mental Health with our local Mental Health and Learning Disabilities NHS Trust (TEWV).

    We provide an individually tailored induction plan and mentor and welcome all applicants whether you have hospital pharmacy experience or gradually introduce key responsibilities as experience is gained and you will be supported to develop your clinical knowledge and skills.

    After being in post for at least 12 months and being able to demonstrate you have met the key responsibilities you will be eligible for progression into a band 7 role.

    We actively encourage your development in the form of a postgraduate clinical diploma at Bradford University. We will provide you with a senior tutor and allocated study time. There will also be opportunity for further development into non-medical prescribing.

    You will provide sessional support to Technical Services, Medicines Information and Dispensary. You will also be expected to participate in the weekend rotas and on-call (approximately a day a month).

    Essential

  • Pre-registration training.
  • GPhC registration
  • A degree in pharmacy (Masters or equivalent)
  • Desirable

  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
  • Experience & Knowledge

  • Understanding of practical issues around patient safety risks relating to medicines.
  • Knowledge of legal aspects relating to medicines including controlled drugs
  • Understanding of the principals of medicines optimisation and practical application
