    Description

    Job Description I am delighted to have been retained with a market leading renewable energy operation based out of Edinburgh.

    Reporting into the Corporate Development lead and founding partners, the successful incumbent will become an integral member of the Corporate Development and Land Management Team for the organisations latest renewable energy platform.

    The Senior Land Manager role is focussed on the development and implementation of one of the businesses new renewables strategy, encompassing the below responsibilities:

    Secure the land rights for designated project locations, both at land level and subterranean. This work will include taking responsibility for the shape of the commercial terms and legal agreements with counterparties.
    Support the operational development and readiness of hydrogen and long duration energy storage (LDES) projects.

    Positively engage with directors, project managers, designers, and support staff to ensure that strategically important programme milestones are achieved, with risks and issues identified and mitigated at an early stage.

    Lead on arranging access to land for non-intrusive and intrusive environmental and engineering surveys as required for the development of the project sites.

    Produce and maintain an accurate database covering landowner or occupier contacts, to support if necessary, achieving a positive outcome through a compulsory purchase order (CPO) process.

    Act as the businesses expert and client representative and ensure that contractors work to the relevant timescale, quality and commercial standards whilst ensuring that Bute's high customer standards are maintained.

    Maintain accurate land-related budgets for all commercial discussions and report directly to Finance Department to ensure accurate financial reporting.

    Lead on relationship and management of external professional support team of Solicitors, Land agents, etc.
    Comprehensive understanding of farming and land management practice is a bonus
    Experience of leading commercial negotiations with internal and external parties.
    Experience in presenting to a Board, building their confidence in the land function, and processes/controls.
    Strong commercial acumen with the skills to lead on commercial contracts and negotiations.
    Willingness and ability to travel to sites based in England on a weekly basis.
    Clean driving licence.

    The position is very much built on a hybrid working directive.

    There is full flexibility with the option to work from home or in the office as needed and the role will obviously involve frequent travel across the UK.
