- Accountable to the Senior Bereavement Services Technical Officer.
- Interact with the public & external agencies like HM Coroner's Office, Medical Examiners, and Medical Practitioners.
- Collaborate with staff across different levels, Council Departments, and Elected Members.
- Work alongside the Bereavement Service Team with a courteous and pleasant demeanor.
- Salary: B1
- 24 days annual leave, increasing to 28 days after 5 years, plus Bank Holidays.
- 37-hour flexible work week within office hours, Monday to Friday.
- Voluntary contributory Superannuation Scheme at 6% deduction.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced setting, offering technical support for Burials, Cremations, and Memorialization. You will handle confidential and sensitive matters, liaising with Funeral Directors, The Coroner's Office, and grieving relatives, providing legal advice while ensuring GDPR compliance. Displaying empathy towards bereaved families, both over the phone and in person, is crucial.
Accuracy is key as errors in information recording can cause distress and legal implications. Proficiency in computer software such as Word, Excel, email, PowerPoint, and teamwork, along with strong verbal communication skills, is a must.
This role offers a pathway for career growth, including training for an NVQ Level 1 / 2 in Business Administration for candidates without these qualifications.

Job Description
Job Purpose
Assist in ensuring legal compliance and providing technical support to officers and Managers within the Bereavement Services team. Offer guidance on Bereavement and Technical matters to the public.
Responsibilities for Grade
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Demonstrate problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and dealing with challenging situations. Essential knowledge and experience include public interaction, team collaboration, and computer skills.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS Basic understanding of burial, cremation, and memorialization legislation is desirable.
