    Senior Software Developer (Progress/OpenEdge)

    In recent years, we have seen significant organic and inorganic growth, leading to significant demands being put on our development and operation teams.

    We are therefore looking to add an experienced Progress/Open edge software developer to work as part of our in-house development team on our WMS system who will report to our Head of Product Development.

    Your main objective will be to design and develop both changes to existing functionality and design and develop new functionality for our well-established WMS system.

    Your role will also include providing customer support where you will be required to engage with our customers and take responsibility of support issues raised right through to resolution, working with other team members whenever required to provide necessary solutionsResponsibilities:
    Customer requirements gathering for new features or changes to existing functionalityDesign efficient and effective solutions based on customer requirements with the ability to carry out thorough impact analysis on any proposed changesWorking with front-end web developers designing and developing API'sRefactoring legacy code into small efficient functions (single principal) that can be used throughout the system on multiple user interfacesCreate development and technical specifications that adhere to company standardsDevelop, unit test and deploy code changes when required to multiple customersEnsure all coding meets standards in terms of accuracy and efficiencyCollaborate with QA on all development changes carried out and assist in resolving any issues identified during the QA processReview assigned support tickets and take ownership until resolution is foundLiaise with both the development and operations team to gain product knowledge and issue assistance

    Key Skills:
    Strong expertise in Progress OpenEdge ABL/4GL tools and environmentExperience and good understanding of Progress databases (including administration)

    At least 5 years Progress/OpenEdge experienceExperience of systems integration (CSV, XML, EDI, API)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work to tight timescalesCustomer-focused individual who can deal professionally and efficientlyBe able to work as part of a team, but have the initiative to work aloneExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDesire to learn best practices and new technologiesUnderstanding of Windows Operating SystemsExperience within the following areas would be an advantage:
    Experience in WMS/Supply Chain/Warehousing Software SolutionsWeb Development (Angular, Kendo UI, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, REST API)
