Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator - London, United Kingdom - Our Future Health Limited

    Default job background
    Description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Community Engagement Coordinator to help deliver a programme of work to promote Our Future Health in London with an initial focus of East London.

You will be working to build long-term relationships with community groups in London, focusing on the South Asian community, to build understanding and trust.

As well as having a significant impact in London, your work will also help demonstrate whether this is an approach that can be effective across the UK.

Our Future Health will be the UK's largest ever health research programme, bringing people together to develop new ways to detect, prevent and treat diseases.

We are a charity, supported by the UK Government, in partnership with charities and industry.

Our plan is to bring together 5 million volunteers from right across the UK who will be asked to contribute information to help build one of the most detailed pictures we have ever had of people's health.

So future generations can live in good health for longer.

In this role, you will be responsible for promoting the programme across communities within East London and wider London area.

This job is ideally suited to someone who enjoys building relationships with a diverse range of communities and is happy visiting East London and surrounds for 2-3 days per week.

Helping support the development of our plans for community engagement, ensuring we are focusing on the areas with the greatest potential for increasing the diversity of the cohort.

Building and maintaining relationships, including with faith groups, community groups, the NHS and local government.
    Organising community engagement events.
Supporting the delivery of partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders and community leaders.
Working with the internal team to coordinate community engagement activity with our recruitment programme.
Experience of working in community engagement programmes, with a focus on delivering tangible results.
Have a dynamic, flexible approach, with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.

Being bilingual would be highly desirable for this role, particularly if you are fluent in Urdu, Bengali or Sylheti.

Experience of engaging with diverse communities about health research would also be beneficial in this role.

~ Generous company pension package with employer contributions of up to 12%.
~30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
~ Continuous career development with regular appraisals and learning and development opportunities.
~ A lovely new office in Holborn, Central London – we offer flexible and remote working arrangements.
