    Description

    mustardFX are teaming up with a Remote-First AAA Developer based in the UK that has created and friendly and supportive environment for all staff, specialising in Unreal Engine. As a Studio creating it's own AAA IP's, they also work with some of the Top AAA studios as Co-Dev for a range of Genre-Defining AAA projects.

    Our Established Client is currently looking for a Lead Animator to ensure delivery of high fidelity, well implemented 3D Animatons for use in Large-Scale game environments, while creating and maintaining the projects pipeline.

    PLEASE NOTE: Our Client can only hire within the UK & Can Not offer Sponsorship.

    Salary: Circa £42,000 - £45,000 (Depending on Experience)

    Responsibilities:

    Collaborate with project Leads and adjacent disciplines to maintain consistency and quality throughout, including scoping and planning upcoming work.

    Provide feedback, support and mentorship to the wider Animation team, including involvement in the hiring process and onboarding support where required.

    Work with external partners to build positive relationships, solve problems and drive quality.

    Manage and prioritise the day-to-day tasks of Animators to ensure content delivery and team well-being.

    Create, maintain and improve on project pipeline/best practices using documentation and tutorials.

    Work within the specifications of the project and technology, keeping to given performance budgets and production requirements.

    Lead by example to support the Animation team, by getting hands on creating high quality, inspiring animations and maintaining animation libraries.

    Experience/Skills:

    A genuine passion for games, how they're made and the people that make them.

    5 years of relevant experience and an excellent understanding of current game development animation pipelines from concept to implementation into a game engine.

    Deep understanding of Animation technique and theory, able to break down motion and kinematics to get the most out of character, creature and prop animations.

    Expert understanding of character skin weighting and rigging.

    Expert knowledge of Maya or equivalent, with strong hand-key animation skills.

    Bonus Experience/Skills:

    Strong interest in cinematography, storytelling and cutscene creation.

    Experience with Motion Capture and capture clean-up/enhancement.

    Experience with Unreal Engine, including using Animation Blueprints.

    Understanding of 3D modelling best practices when applying deformation to a mesh.

    Experience animating high-fidelity characters for third and first person adventure games.
