    Description

    Reporting to: Founder Director/COO

    ABOUT ZENOBE

    Our goal is to make clean power accessible, to accelerate the shift to zero carbon power and transport.

    We're building and operating the world's most sophisticated battery systems to enable the uptake of more renewable power and accelerating fleet electrification, de-risking the transition to zero-emission transport at scale. We've been consistently innovative since we were founded in 2017, achieving major industry firsts and using proprietary software and data analysis to optimise operational performance for our customers. At the end of their life, we repurpose electric vehicle batteries to provide clean power at depots, on construction sites and film sets.

    Today we have 730 MW of grid scale battery storage operational and under construction and are the largest owner and operator of EV buses in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, supporting over 1,000 electric vehicles worldwide. In our first five years we have raised nearly £1.8 billion in funding and have expanded into other markets such as the US. Our rapidly growing company is looking for highly talented and motivated people to join us.

    A TASTE OF THE DAY TO DAY

    • Shape and execute Zenobē's technological vision and strategy, alongside the senior leadership team.
    • Establish tech values and voice within the business, aligned with business values. Act as an ambassador for technology.
    • Work in with the internal Product & Engineering teams to fuel innovation, ensuring the seamless integration of emerging technologies into our current systems.
    • Coaching and management of tech team leaders within the business, ensuring that delivery at the highest possible standards.
    • Establish an environment of continuous improvement, ensuring the Zenobē values are present in all decision making.
    • Assess and mitigate risks associated with technology projects, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and quality standards.
    • Oversee the security, scalability, and integrity of our technology infrastructure, adhering to best practices and industry standards.
    • Act as a technical advisor for the Founders and senior leadership team, providing consistent updates on technology initiatives, industry developments, and advancements toward our strategic objectives.

    WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

    Essential

    • Strong background in Internet of Things (IoT) technology, including both hardware and software protocols and implementation across different industries
    • Extensive experience in building and maintaining streaming architectures, specifically Kafka
    • History of building real time data flows from field devices, through to data infrastructure and everything in between
    • Knowledge of, and strong experience in, developing and implementing cyber security strategies, maintaining critical data and ensuring compliance with strict industry standards
    • Able to demonstrate a history of developing and managing complex in-field networks across multiple sites and putting adequate controls in place to monitor them
    • Experience in developing and executing technology roadmaps aligned with business goals.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, able to translate complex technical concepts to a diverse audience
    • Oversee the security, scalability, and integrity of our technology infrastructure, adhering to best practices and industry standards

    Desirable

    • Experience in renewable technology, specifically energy storage and/or EV Charging
    • Understanding of the market(s) Zenobē operates within
    • Experience managing data and analytics functions
    • Electrical engineering experience
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
