£32,000 - £35,000 Subject to experienceWe are recruiting for a Category Lead for Direct Spend – someone who can manage and steer the end-to-end sourcing of parts for our buses.
As part of the Logistics department, you'll manage our portfolio of spares contracts for our vehicles to ensure our people have the best parts, at the best prices, at the right place and time.
It's definitely a 'sleeves up' role - we are a busy department and there is lots of opportunity to help shape our strategy as we as business, evolve our fleet to achieve our net zero targets.
You'll be working for our Direct Spend Category Manager, to support our operating companies, building great relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally. It's a role which will give you plenty of exposure across our business and you'll need to build strong relationships with our external supply chain partners.
You'll not be on your own – we have many subject matter experts and there's always someone to bounce ideas off or sense check your approach.
We want to nurture work relationships and love to see the department in the office collaborating and thriving, but we recognise the advantages our people gain from working from. This role offers a hybrid working pattern.You'll work out of our Stockport office 3 days a week to optimise those team building opportunities and we offer 2 days a week working from home.
There's just a couple of 'must-haves' from our perspective...
You'll need a strong background in in formal tendering, contract and supplier relationship management, with a focus on direct spend. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.You'll need significant experience with analysing high volume data – a keen eye for detail, a passion for numbers and be commercially focused. Some experience of developing and supporting team members. Ideally, you'll hold, or be working towards, relevant CIPS qualifications.
