    Description

    Position: Financial Controller

    Location: Glasgow – onsite (City Centre)

    Type: Full-Time, Permanent

    Salary: £60,000

    Job Purpose

    As a Financial Controller, you will be responsible for managing financial operations, systems, and tools used by the finance team. You will provide essential information and guidance to the Board, CEO, and Senior Leadership Team to support decision-making and performance tracking. This role requires a business-oriented mindset and experience in housing or social care to analyze service sustainability and assist with pricing bids and tenders.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead and oversee a dynamic finance team for high performance.
    • Enhance team expertise through regular reviews.
    • Support the CEO and Head of Corporate Services at financial meetings.
    • Interact with external auditors and manage the audit process.
    • Develop financial accounts and manage budgeting processes.
    • Ensure the finance system is up-to-date and provide team training.
    • Manage financial processes including purchase ledger and bank reconciliation.
    • Conduct contract reviews and develop financial forecasts.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and develop new policies.
    • Manage relationships with financial institutions and oversee money management.
    • Supervise payroll companies and assist with pricing models.
    • Engage with department heads for financial reviews.
    • Participate in audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
    • Enhance team awareness of financial threats.

    Essential Qualifications and Experience

    • Chartered Accountant Professional Finance Qualification (ACCA/ICAS/CIMA/CIPFA) with 3+ years of senior finance experience.
    • Experience in preparing financial reports and accounts.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Strong leadership and time management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

    Desirable Experience and Skills

    • Experience in social care or third sector organizations.
    • Familiarity with SDM Housing Management Software.
    • Knowledge of Scottish Housing regulations.
    • Understanding of charity finance and fundraising.
