    AV/Access Control Service Engineer

    Company: Growing Technology Provider

    Location: Manchester and the North of England

    We are seeking an experienced AV Service Engineer to join our team at this innovative technology company. Specializing in immersive AV solutions for leisure and retail, we value individuals who have a keen interest in technology, excel at building relationships, and thrive in a dynamic environment that encourages innovation.

    Our primary focus lies in audio/visual and Access Control systems, with additional expertise in TV/RF systems, DMX/effect/LED lighting, data networks, and automation.

    While we provide comprehensive in-house training to enhance engineers' skills, we require candidates to possess at least one strong skill set from the aforementioned technologies and demonstrate a willingness to develop others. This position presents an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to expand their technical capabilities.

    Opportunity

    An exciting opening awaits a self-motivated, versatile, and seasoned AV Service Engineer. The successful candidate will be dedicated to delivering exceptional services and customer support. This role is based in and around the North of England.

    Responsibilities

    • Attending client sites to promptly and efficiently resolve issues
    • Engaging with clients to address their needs
    • Demonstrating self-motivation and dedication to problem resolution
    • Utilizing problem-solving skills to identify faults and deliver effective solutions consistently
    • Providing end-user training following the installation of new devices
    • Thoroughly documenting job reports, outlining procedures taken and obtaining client approval
    • Maintaining accurate service records
    • Cultivating strong client relationships
    • Spotting sales opportunities with existing clients and collaborating with the Sales team
    • Conducting and documenting site surveys
    • Upholding high technical standards within the team
    • Assisting with system commissioning on construction sites when necessary
    • Participating in ongoing training and development programs

    Requirements

    • A minimum of three years' experience in an AV engineering role, covering a range of technical areas
    • Prior experience in using problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot and deliver high-quality solutions
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting AV system schematics and drawings
    • Ability to terminate cables to industry standards
    • Understanding of PC-based IP networks
    • ECS - Electrotechnical Certification Scheme or equivalent
    • Capability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
    • Flexible availability and willingness to travel across the UK and Europe
    • Valid UK Driving Licence and Passport holder

    Desirable

    • Familiarity with RF/IPTV/HDMI components and distribution
    • Competence in Bose, Kramer, Martin Audio, DMX lighting
    • Experience with Access Control systems such as turnstiles, glass-gates, barriers, etc.
    • Knowledge of PAVA systems, video wall, and projector solutions
    • CTS certification is advantageous
    • IPAF and PASMA certification preferred
    • AVIXA/Infocomm certification a plus
