Policy Volunteer - United Kingdom - IW Volunteer

    Default job background
    Description
Pride Weekend Volunteer role profile (19th,20th and 21st July 2024 – Ryde)

IW Pride weekend is thepinnacle of our year, and we need a great many volunteers over the weekend toensure that the event runs smoothly and safely.

The volunteer roles arevaried and changeable at the last minute, so you need to be flexible and beable to work under direction.

Most of the roles have a public facing element soyou will have to be comfortable chatting to people and other team members.

Youneed to be willing to get stuck in and have a go at anything you are asked todo and that might mean litter picking and checking toilets (events are wall towall glamour).

We may ask you to do more than one job during your shift.

Our volunteers will receive a name badge and lanyard to wear at events.

Everyone will have a basic induction to their role – which will be updated toreflect each event and activity you are involved with.

Most shifts will last fourhours but some maybe up to six. This means everyone gets a chance to join inwith the event too. This role might mean early starts or late finishes soplease be prepared for this.

Rotas for the weekend will be sent out as soon aswe can but no less than one week before the event.

We will base the rota onyour availability. There will always be a Trustee or senior volunteer aroundfor support.

This role will bebased in Ryde, and you will report to the IW Pride Volunteer Management Team (VMT) and Trusteeson the weekend.
