    Ascent is seeking someone truly passionate about all things data to take on a new role in our expanding Data and AI team. A principal data architect with data management governance experience to consult and work with customers to develop their data ecosystems, leveraging typical Microsoft modern cloud data platform technologies like Databricks, Synapse and Fabric, and Purview. The role will include typical data architecture activities across ingestion, engineering, analytics and visualization, and specialise in expanding our capabilities in data management and governance, establishing a reuseable process and framework, assisting our customers to expedite and improve organization data maturity through data management across key areas, including data modelling, metadata management, data classification, lineage, security, master data management, data quality, governance and compliance.     Experience with the following technologies
    • Microsoft-centric Data platform (Databricks, Synapse or Fabric).
    • Microsoft Purview.
    • A broad background utilising various Microsoft Data technologies.
    Nice to haves, but not essential
    • Familiarity with Data *Ops processes like DataOps, AIOps, and MLOps.
    • Hands-on data engineering skills.
    • Exposure to working with data scientists.
    • Understanding/interest in AI / Generative AI and how this is shaping modern data ecosystems.
