About the Role
This role will involve collaborating closely with local partners, community groups, and volunteers, as well as maintaining communication with internal planning and policy teams. Utilizing your expertise, you will oversee the management of the city's green spaces for biodiversity while offering strategic policy recommendations on the utilization of various green and open areas within the city.
Your proficiency in providing expert advice and executing projects should be supported by a degree or equivalent in ecology, environmental science, or related field. Familiarity with the current planning system and evolving environmental laws, including Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), is essential. Additionally, experience in Greenspace matters like conservation and land management is crucial. You should also have a background in collaborating with external contractors, community groups, and funding bodies, such as the National Lottery.
