    Description

    As a Senior Test Engineer, you will be delivering environmental, mechanical, ingress protection and battery testing projects for Intertek's Electrical global client base.

    ABOUT YOU

    As a Senior Test Engineer, you are a self-motivated, organised individual with ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.

    Required skills and experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of relevant test experience
    • Experience of testing products in accordance with BS EN/IEC , MIL-STD-810 and RTCA-DO-160 series of standards and BS EN/IEC 60529; UN38.3, IEC 62281 and IEC 62133
    • Experience of working in an ISO 17025 accredited test laboratory
    • Ability to make technical decisions independently within established parameters
    • Experience in measurement uncertainty and developing uncertainly budgets for test equipment
    • Physical dexterity to operate equipment and perform other functions necessary to perform the duties of the job effectively and efficiently. This may include bending/stooping, turning/twisting, reaching, balancing etc.

    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

    As a Senior Test Engineer, you'll be working within Intertek Electrical UK business line as a member of the Shared Services Lab.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare test plans and costing proposals using templates provided by Intertek to support Intertek Sales team with quotations
    • Conduct environmental and mechanical, battery testing and ingress protection testing
    • Record test data, test results and produce reports
    • Deliver testing projects within agreed timescales
    • Conduct technical reviews of test reports for projects delivered by other engineers in the team
    • Provide technical support to other engineers in the team, external clients and other internal Intertek teams
    • Share knowledge, provide training and technical support to other engineers in the team
    • Participate in annual ISO 17025 test lab accreditation assessments
    • Support laboratory manager with maintenance of ISO 17025 test lab laboratory accreditations

    Office location – Leatherhead, KT22. Permanent. Full Time.
