Contract: Fixed-term, 12 months maternity cover Salary: Competitive + excellent benefits (bonus, pension, healthcare, life cover etc.) Location: UK, London (hybrid) About the role You will work with our team of healthcare copywriters, art directors and designers to conceive and execute a variety of brand communication and engagement projects through a wide range of media. In a hands-on role, working with, and reporting to, the Creative Directors, you will be jointly responsible for the quality of the creative work that Avalere Health produces, ensuring it is always as impactful and effective as possible. You will act as creative director on some brands, and mentor, develop and nurture junior creatives, particularly conceptual copywriters. You will champion effective creativity internally and externally, working closely with brand teams and other colleagues to promote its value.

    What you'll do

  • Inspire high creative standards, through the quality of own work and through encouragement and interaction with others
  • Developing and directing concepts for advertising or promotional campaigns
  • Take a creative leadership role on brands and projects, working closely with brand teams and creative colleagues to shape and direct the creative strategy and delivery
  • Present as an authority on current creative thinking and playing an active role in raising our profile as a leading pharma creative communications company
  • Build strong interpersonal relationships, working smoothly with colleagues whilst pushing and encouraging them
  • Champion the power of creativity and the company culture of collaboration, and encouraging others to do the same
  • Help to nurture talent of the future: supervising, mentoring and actively training junior members of staff, identifying and handling training requirements where relevant
  • Constructively challenge and inspire others to think about copywriting and the creative ideation process
  • Play a pivotal role in growing the agency and identifying new business opportunities
  • Suggest new business initiatives where appropriate and following through on them
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of the commercial aspects of our business and assist in ensuring the creative department meets its key performance targets
  • Take the lead on new business pitch work, directing and presenting as required

  • Demonstrate excellent mentorship to develop junior copywriters and others in the creative services team
