    Description
    The MENTOR Initiative is a humanitarian organization focused on disease control and enhancing healthcare access in emergency situations across various regions in Africa, the Middle East, and South America.
    Mentor's mission involves carrying out extensive disease control initiatives in collaboration with remote and underserved communities impacted by conflicts and natural calamities, while also strengthening the technical and operational capabilities of local and international partners to incorporate sustainable disease control systems into their strategies.
    We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Country Director with expertise in vector-borne disease control to lead an overseas country program in conjunction with a proficient UK-based team.
    • Strong background in Programme Management, Humanitarian work, or Development is highly desirable.
    • Experience in managing medical emergencies and post-emergency programs in volatile environments.
    • Prior experience in managing health programs and/or country offices preferred.
    • Proficiency in English and a second language (French, Portuguese, or Spanish) is highly advantageous.
    Key Responsibilities:
    • Represent MENTOR in essential meetings with stakeholders, donors, partners, and local authorities.
    • Ensure timely and efficient implementation of health, VBD control, WASH, and nutrition activities as per donor and government regulations.
    • Review and secure HQ approval for all training materials, prevention tools, M&E protocols, and case management before execution.
    • Manage data collection effectively and support field studies as necessary.
    • Oversee the implementation of MENTOR's financial and operational systems.
    • Ensure proper execution of logistics procedures such as procurement, stock management, fleet maintenance, and communications.
    • Establish and implement HR management systems, ensuring compliance with MENTOR's guidelines on safeguarding, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption practices.
    • Lead coordination and team management, including direct line management of support coordinators.
    • Ensure adherence to MENTOR's code of conduct and policies, particularly regarding sexual harassment.
    Additional Duties:
    • Develop narrative and financial reports for donor partners according to set specifications and deadlines.
    • Maintain and update security and safety policies in alignment with organizational standards.
    • Submit comprehensive reports highlighting achievements, challenges, and strategies for program enhancement.
    • Address changing humanitarian needs by taking on additional tasks that contribute to program objectives.
