The Physician Associate will play a vital role in the medical team, working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Conducting thorough patient consultations, including medical history reviews and physical examinations.
Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as blood work, imaging studies, and electrocardiograms.
Formulating accurate diagnoses and developing appropriate treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
Prescribing medications and therapies as needed, adhering to clinical guidelines and best practices.
Providing patient education on preventive care, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and coordinate care effectively.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Physician Associate Studies, Healthcare Science).
Completion of a recognized Physician Associate program accredited by the Faculty of Physician Associates (FPA).
Registration with the Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR) or eligibility for registration.
Strong clinical skills, including history-taking, physical examination, and diagnostic reasoning.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while also seeking guidance when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working as a Physician Associate or in a similar clinical role.
Knowledge of primary care practices and common medical conditions.
Familiarity with electronic health record systems and medical software.
