    Compliance AssistantTop Law Firm12 month contract£28-30kAn excellent opportunity has arisen at a top 20 law firm for a law graduate seeking a career in legal compliance.

    The FirmThe law firm is a top 20 firm with an exciting client base of large technology, sport, media and entertainment, energy, retail and financial companies.

    They have a number of offices throughout Europe, The Middle East, and Asia Pacific.

    The Compliance TeamThe team is growing and is headed up by a talented manager who enjoys training, mentoring and developing the team.

    The team promote from within and this role has arisen as the current compliance assistant has been promoted to compliance officer.

    The progression with the firm is fab as they have senior officers, team leaders and supervisors.
    The RoleThe compliance assistant can look forward to being involved in both conflicts of interest and anti-money laundering (AML).

    You will be responsible for completing in-depth research and due diligence on clients to establish the structure and beneficial owners, using Intapp to ascertain if there a potential legal or commercial conflict and analysing if enhanced due diligence is required.


    Other duties the compliance assistant will gain include:

    Opening new client matter filesConducting conflict checks on clients and mattersCollating all the relevant information required and preparing client engagement letters.

    Completing Client Due Diligence (CDD) / Know your client (KYC)Performing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checksIdentifying Politically exposed persons (PEP's)Experience RequiredA law degree is required for this role so you can understand the complex transactions and matters and have an analytical mindset.

    Any admin or paralegal experience would be a bonus, and any experience with file opening or with conflicts or AML would be a bonus.

    Additional language skills, in particular French, German or Swedish, would also be a bonus.
